This house, nestled in the SW Portland Hills, is tucked into our natural forests. The homeowners wanted to create a more functional and usable space that they could enjoy while blending into their surroundings. We helped them tame the hillside with sustainable Juniper timber steps, sourced from Eastern Oregon, created terraced patios and sitting areas, installed retaining walls with local basalt stone, and built raised beds for vegetable gardening.

We incorporated a diverse selection of plants including natives to help stabilize the soil, pollinator plants to attract insects and butterflies, and plenty of plants for the birds too. This property has truly transformed into an amazing oasis where you can comfortably relax in the landscape while still feeling connected to the surrounding forest.
